Pros

Pay is good. Benefits are okay. Company car and phone is pretty cool. Flexibility in hours to an extent.

Cons

Being on call all the time. Dealing with restaurant managers that are unwilling to cooperate. Too many corporate rollouts. No support from management. Unwillingness to move or promote people. customers expect the world because the call outs are free so instead of responding to emergencies, you respond to silly calls all the time for no extra pay. Management will always side with the customer even if they are plain wrong. Ecolab claims to be all about safety, however it's totally fine for you to work 12+ hours and then still drive out for an hour to respond to a call. If you do well one year, your budget will be set extra high the next, so you can't possibly stay successful.

Pros

Big company, OK pay, stable business model

Cons

The company culture is toxic and encourages hostile working environment. Workplace bully is a common thing within the company. The current strategic downsizing in Naperville Campus is at the cost of removing employees at will, because they are at-will employees, especially for old employees who stayed over 10+ years. Company can get rid of you anytime for any reason, even it is not your fault, which the company does not care. The only thing the company cares is cost reduction, and management runs like machines, making decisions only good to themselves. Bureaucracy is impregnated within the company and management is arrogant and horrible. Currently, management are just preying on employees who make accidental mistakes so that firing or layoff could get justified. Evil company! If you are current employees, good luck, do not make any mistakes, otherwise you will be booted. For future employees, remember, you will get your work terminated even if you do not make any mistake for something you did not do nor get trained, because, too bad, you do not have a second chance to help yourself. Those greed-hound like managers plan to get rid of you even they do not train you properly

Pros

Provides all computer equipment needed for remote work. Vacation accrual and benefits from day 1. Decent pay for this type of work.

Cons

Typical call center work - lots of angry callers and high stress environment. Micromanagement and emphasis is on quick call times and metrics, not service. 24/7/365 work environment means you're scheduled to work on all holidays. Need to request holidays, Fridays and Mondays off 6 months in advance. Different break and lunch schedule daily. Sometimes lunch break is over 5 hours into shift. Lack of consistent answers between managers and CSA help line. Forced to field calls about credit issues, but no access to full credit history.
