Pros

The internationality and global chances. Working abroad is no problem and it great to always work with and talk to people from other countries. It's a lot of fun and no matter where everybody is really helpful.

Cons

A huge company, it's hard to keep track of worldwide issues. That means, projects which are conducted on a global level often don't make their way to different employees in certain countries. Means you will once in a while find that work is done double or triple. That's not because of bad communication - it's because of the size of the company and the many different silos. I guess, that's just how it is in a partnership.

Pros

None. Unless you're new to the United States and the accounting profession. No good reasons to work for E&Y if your an administrative employee--at all.

Cons

The only ones promoted or encouraged are client serving and accounting/tax/consulting individuals. I think they take advantage and recruit highly from foreign countries so they don't have to pay new personnel as much--especially staff.

Pros

EY is a greta place for if Work/ Life Balace is an important characteristic of your career. They are very flexible and understanding of personal situations. EY is a name for the resume. Just having EY stamped on your credentials is a big advantage in your future endevours -i.e. resume builder. EY also has a great expense and employee fringe benefits plan. It is becoming tighter, as it should with the current economic times, but overall one of the most lienent around.

Cons

Big firm, which may cause a lot of people to get lost in the shuffle. Also certain positions require a extreme amount of travel, coupled with inconsistent time management by senior employees, often makes it had to plan a personal life. This is not an everyday situation, as in general the balance is good. But often times you are required to make a lot more sacrafices then you recieve.
