      Pros

      Generally a welcoming environment with very good benefits and sensitivity to family and community needs.. Opportunity for internal job-seeking. A lot of variation in the culture of different work groups so it's difficult to make a general statement but there are many good people here. A positive mission.

      Cons

      Some divisions are change-averse. Only limited support for innovation.

      Flexible job that helped put me through my PhD

      Pros

      Work from home, flexible scheduling, straightforward work. Things were predictable, the pay was better than I could get at similarly low impact jobs, and it did rely on my credentials which is very good.

      Cons

      Very little possibility for advancement from the position that I held. That is probably not the case for other positions though. The office jobs are probably better in that than work from home.
