Pros

good benefits, job security (it's basically impossible to get fired unless you're a temp or you do something illegal) generally don't have to take work home with you, beautiful campus, nice people (many life longers)

Cons

Lots of people have been here for 20-30 years in the same position where they started because you need an advanced degree to be able to move up. Only having a bachelors will limit you to mostly entry and some mid level jobs because masters or above is required for upper level positions.

Pros

Support professional development; stimulating environment; very comfortable work conditions; employees take pride in the work of ETS; lots of interesting presentations, workshops, extra-curriculars (ToastMasters, WeightWatchers, etc.)

Cons

Atmosphere very corporate; very high stress; lots of politics; very hard to increase salary; half-hour lunch is in addition to 8-hour work day (you have to put in 8.5 hour day)

Pros

Please note that my assessment is based on my position as a part-time rater for an English-language proficiency scoring program. It is my understanding that full-time positions at HQ in Princeton have a very different experience--see those reviews for further info. -Great name recognition; instantly draws attention and commands respect on a resume -Flexible scheduling; telecommute options -Low-stress environment, relaxed pace of work

Cons

Again, the following are for part-time scoring personnel. -Compensation -Lack of job training/guidance: essentially, if you are able to train yourself to perform your job, you will succeed -Often repetitive nature of work
