Pros

- Most of the perks of a work-at-home job -Mostly good, educated people to work with - Mostly know your schedule a month ahead of time

Cons

- No benefits at all. Not even paid time off, bonuses, or profit-sharing (because "non-profit" is a joke) - Hours and scheduling are not conducive to a stable life/budget -- shifts get cancelled last minute (or the shift gets halved) and some months there are barely any hours at all - Some programs have poorly trained supervisors who are not very professional and do not seem educated enough to hold their positions - TOEFL used to be the best program to work for, with the most professional and educated oversight personnel, however, now that ETS has reduced rater pay by 20%, I am sure that won't last much longer. The TOEFL test will likely become obsolete, as employee morale has taken a strong downturn, and the pool of qualified raters will surely start dwindling. I'm honestly embarrassed that I recommended working for ETS to several of my skilled, educated friends. This job is really only suited for someone with a full-time job that wants something extra to do or a stay-at-home mom who has someone else as her main source of income. I would say college students, too, but you actually have to have a degree (or graduate degree, in some cases) to work here!

Pros

Work at home Flexible Hours Formerly semi-decent pay

Cons

Recent 25% pay reduction - starts Feb. 1 Clear that due to failure in other departments (such as losing the SAT contract), ETS cuts corners elsewhere - never being treated so poorly working for a higher educational institute - which is a real achievement on ETS's part

Pros

You can work from home, otherwise, mainly just cons, cons, cons

Cons

Poor pay, no raises EVER, reduces pay across-the-board. no paid vacation, no paid holidays, no health insurance, no sick days, unreliable scheduling, poor morale among employees, no recognition of high-performing employees, high demands on personal equipment required
