      Pros

      Dow has a culture of data-driven decision making that is evident at every level of management. The quality of science and engineering work is high and it has helped me grow as a critical thinker.

      Cons

      My experience within Dow R&D is that Dow strongly favors organic growth and the tight control of intellectual property. This can sometimes discourage joint development projects with other institutions and can lead to "re-inventing the wheel".
