      Dow management wants work done the Dow way.

      Pros

      They demand a safe environment for working in the lab and they pay well.

      Cons

      Everything has to be done the Dow way. Don't go there if you are an out-of-the-box thinker. That is not the Dow way. They believe that there must be a 10% turnover in personnel and they will have layoffs to meet their beliefs. They prefer yes men to people that get the job done.

      For more senior people, great opportunities to network, move, & grow. Interesting problems to be solved.

      Cons

      Opportunities for lower level people (techs, admins) not as readily available. Harder to justify travel or some training.

      Pros

      Smart People, challenging problems, and generally good resources for solving them. Many different things to work on and generally supportive of external conferences and publishing.

      Cons

      Politics and a bit of a lack of personal development. Too many work processes sometimes make getting things done more challenging than they need to be.
