Awful all around

Pros

Sometimes encounter nice people. Sometimes have nice co-workers.

Cons

Incredibly terribly defined workload and criminally understaffed intentionally to bleed employee wages to lower prices. Management is mostly awful with people in positions they are not qualified for at all. Good work is rewarded with heavier workload disguised as "trust" Predatory promotion system designed to bleed more hours out of workers for less pay. Promotion in the work environment is a salary trap to double your workload for a slight if any increase in pay. Unfulfilling and incredibly hostile work environment that will make you feel underappreciated and exploited. Will require your entire life revolve around the job to even get anywhere near enough done to get a store afloat. Entire job culture revolves around a game of catch-up with deliveries and stocking and trying to fight over work hours due to there never being enough to staff the store. Benefits are non-existent and your job is never safe. Senior management cares about how much value for money your work is. It's all numbers and they could care less if they work you to the bone. The pay is awful and will never feel like you were rewarded fairly for your work unless you intentionally slack. Your "opportunities" come in the form of being more exploited per weekly basis.

Pros

Learning new processes( as you have to pretty much be able to run the store by yourself at all times, since they never schedule anyone with you), weekly paycheck, decent starting pay

Cons

Store managers can get away with leaving early every single day and calling you in to take their place. Store manager can make you close the store 6 out of 7 nights a week, sometimes even calling you in on your only night off to close just so she can go home instead. Store manager can retaliate against you for a call to corporate on them that YOU didn't even make.. so then you quit and try to make an alternative dispute ticket? They will make it take 3+ weeks to over a month before they even play phone tag with you and make it impossible to actually talk to someone. Still waiting, as my store manager marked me ineligible for rehire when she learned I quit her store and was in the process of getting hired at another location. Only district manager can help fix it, but of course he doesn't respond even though I kept communicating with him and another store manager throughout my struggles with the Manager/company. I worked 40+ hours trying to be a good employee but my narcissistic, self absorbed store manager ruined the whole experience/, environment for me.

Pros

Pay is good for position, company car, quarterly bonuses.

Cons

Micro management from DVPs and Sr VPs. Too many rollups and meaningless tasks, lack of payroll for proper staffing of stores, and expected to work 7 days a week. Grow model is too fast in parts of the country where they are already saturated.
