Photo Pass Disney

Pros

The fellow photo pass members are a talented kind and overall laid back crew/department of Disney. There’s camaraderie amongst the photographers. Fun things like photo of the day/month/year add to the experience.

Cons

If you’re a woman, prepare to be mansplained by creepy male photographers who think they know better than you. Managed by people who have never picked up a camera in their life. They have no clue how it feels holding a heavy camera rig for eight hours in the hot sun, and expect you to physically carry it in your hands and arms at all times. Almost every single photographer has been injured/strained from camera work. Not a lot of care or thought from the higher ups.

Pros

Magical work environment: The atmosphere is upbeat, immersive, and full of Disney charm — it’s hard not to feel the energy from guests and the themed surroundings. Guest interactions: You get to meet people from all over the world, often sharing in their excitement about their vacation. Strong brand name: Having Disney on your resume can open doors in hospitality, entertainment, and customer service industries. Employee perks: Park ticket discounts, merchandise discounts, and occasional exclusive employee events. Training & development: Disney offers thorough onboarding and customer service training, which can help strengthen communication and problem-solving skills.

Cons

High guest volume: Peak seasons can be extremely busy and stressful, with constant lines and high expectations. Strict appearance & behavior standards: Disney maintains very specific guidelines for dress code, grooming, and guest interaction. Irregular hours: Nights, weekends, holidays, and early mornings are often required — work-life balance can be tricky. Emotional labor: You need to remain upbeat and patient, even when dealing with upset or demanding guests. Limited upward mobility in some roles: Moving into higher-level positions may require patience or relocation.
