Pros

good and talented people for the most part, happy hours, product allowance, flexibility to work from home, benefits (medical, time off, etc.) Bonus opportunities are good. Pay is decent.

Cons

Reorgs every 1-2 years. Practically no promotions from inside the Miami team, they love bringing people from other Diageo locations, which is disappointing. There are many talented and hardworking individuals in our office that do not get the recognition they deserve. HR is a joke, but that's everywhere (at least all the companies I have worked for in the past...) They don't look out for the employees best interest or growth and are rude. Many evaluations/reviews throughout the year, that don't amount to anything. Unrealistic targets are set every year and when management finally notices we are not even close to meeting them, it's a panic and cuts everywhere, just to play with the numbers.

Pros

Good development opportunities if you work hard Lots of international people Good atmosphere Great products

Cons

They cut a lot in training budgets the last years, if you're not in the commercial teams, you probably won't have much. It is expected from you to work a lot and to be competitive. Even though they want to promote work-life balance, they are still not there. The salary policy: they're using a benchmark of their talent's competitor depending on the level of the role. It's very common to be offered 75%-80% of the mid-point of your salary range.

Pros

Getting to work in a range of roles and environments was helpful in my overall development. The perks of working in the alcohol industry were very attractive and the ability to work from home on Fridays (for the non-operations roles) was something that I greatly appreciated.

Cons

Diageo is constantly re-structuring, which means teams are pulled apart, people are let-go on a yearly basis. This results in a great deal of tension and a general unwillingness from the older members of the workforce to share knowledge for the fear of becoming obsolete.
