Good place to identify improvement and growth opportunities to demonstrate skills or to learn new ones. Promoted cross functional moves to expand breath of experience.

Cons

Lack of understanding the details on all levels leading to unwillingly or sometimes willingly hiding the truth and delivering cosmetics improvement, benefits through creative accounting and all this that results in every 3 year drastic reorganization and cost cuts on critical areas that further undermines the fundamentals. Cross functional move is embraced so heavily that in many cases incapable people are placed in critical roles that is also a root cause for the above

Pros

Plenty of career development opportunities if you are globally mobile. Good working environment and high level of respect for the individual. Reasonable reward packages. Longer term employees pre 2005 have had the benefit of one of the best final salary pension schemes in the UK.

Cons

Company has been struggling to grow sales in the past two years and competition have made more progress than Diageo. Company has difficulty recruiting recently as not offering competitive reward packages any more. Many people are struggling with new company structure and not sure comapny have got this right so some frustration at present.
