I've worked for Dexters in a variety of roles since 2017, across front office operations, customer service, corporate lettings, data quality and now systems support, training and management. Having experienced multiple areas of the business, I've seen first-hand the opportunities available for people who are committed and want to progress.
One of the biggest strengths of Dexters is that career progression is genuinely possible. I started in an entry-level role and have been able to develop new skills, take on different responsibilities and move into completely different departments over the years. Most recently, I was promoted into a management position, which is another example of the company's willingness to invest in people who consistently contribute and develop.
The business is fast-paced and expectations are high, which won't suit everyone. However, for people who enjoy being challenged, learning new skills and taking ownership of their career, there is a lot of opportunity. I've worked with many colleagues who have progressed into management and specialist positions through hard work and dedication.
What I also appreciate is the variety. Across my time here I've worked with different teams, departments and senior leaders, which has allowed me to gain experience far beyond a typical single-role career path.
Like any large company, there are areas that can always be improved, particularly around communication during periods of change. However, the culture of continuous improvement is something I've consistently seen throughout my time here.
Having left the company and later returned, I can honestly say that Dexters offers more opportunities for growth than many people realise. For those prepared to put the effort in, it can be a rewarding place to build a career.
