Pros

Note: the review comments below are specific to a department; can't speak about the experience in other departments; it may be different in other departments. - Employee gets to meet and work with very knowledgeable and experienced co-workers from many different departments. - Opportunity to contribute in many different ways, and to learn new experiences in many different fields and areas. - Company truly cares about patients with diabetes, and their customers. - Many great and innovative ideas.

Cons

Note: the review comments below are specific to a department; can't speak about the experience in other departments; it may be different in other departments. - No opportunity for life-work balance. Work load on employee is not manageable, but employee is blamed if he/she complains about unrealistic goals, and overwhelming work load. - Toxic work environment; employee is treated as a machine, and there is no kindness and empathy shown to the employee. - Many managers/supervisors have the technical expertise, and are very knowledgeable and experienced. However, many lack social and communication skills, and do not treat employees with respect. - Resources to perform job duties effectively and in a timely manner are very limited, or not available at all. However, employee is expected to get all work done by established deadline. It feels like you need to struggle to overcome the many challenges and obstacles others put in your way to get your work done on time and 100% right the first time to meet expectations. - Many expectations are unrealistically high, and the employee is expected to say something if he or she needs help or feel she/he cannot meet the goals with the time and resources available. However, employee gets blamed for it. - Employee is expected "to do whatever it takes" to get all job done; which includes working weekends and many long-hour days as a norm, not just once in a while when necessary. - Great place to get too stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, and feel under appreciated and sad about your job. Many managers/supervisors do not listen and do not try to understand their employees, which is very unfortunate. - I enjoy the technical aspects of the job, however everything described above kills employee's motivation, creativity, and the interest in staying longer in the Company.

Pros

Met some nice people.

Cons

Remember high school? Where the popular people who thought they were so smart always seemed to get ahead by being cool? There you have it. The sales and technical support leadership is a joke - it's frat house with who you know getting you where you want to go. Merit is not based on hard work. Supervisors and Managers regularly come to work drunk, hungover, disappearing for hours to have 'meetings' at Green Flash brewery, while the others toil away to keep metrics up. The phony 'Director', a constant smile on the face with a knife behind the back, is so deficient in their knowledge that they are about to crack any second. Then screaming and irrational when no one is looking. I have never worked at a place that provided such a great product, but rewarded only lazy people for their ignorance. And don't even get into racism and discrimination because that boils over and it is swept under the rug.The supervisors are talked so badly behind their backs but greeted with a smile each day and they keep eating it up like they are respected. But hey, if you are a drunk, womanizing, lazy male, you will be successful and do not have to work much at all.
