Lack of moral compass

Pros

I'm not sure I know of any. Good Food options in the complex?

Cons

After surpassing a billion dollar revenue an announcement was made that3/4s of the inside sales department was being laid off and jobs would all be outsourced to other countries. This was after Dexcom hired a bunch of people knowing they were going to lay those same people off as this is morally incomprehensible. Our commission was scraped off the top in 2018 to help generate that billion dollar revenue. Now that most people will be laid off, we will be doing the job of 4 departments with the pay of one and the commission of non because we won't have time to work in our pipelines. No one on the inside gets promoted to the field... Ok, one person in six years has. I came to Dexcom to sell and I've become a rep who takes customer service calls and gets yelled at by patients and management all day. There's no preparation in the choices the executives make andthe consequences are felt by employees. There is greed and a lack of respect. Outside sales gets a trip to an island for meeting goals, inside gets a trip to Palm springs which doesn't accurately reimburse for the amount of effort and commitment from our team. It's an elitest company and its not sustainable to use your employees until they have nothing to give. Dexcom, Kevin, you should be ashamed of your choices.

Employees Beware...

Pros

Pay could be better for all they put people through. Benefits are great. Can work with some great people.

Cons

Leadership! The leadership team at Dexcom is a complete joke. They spend all of their time in meetings that seem to accomplish nothing. Then when they are at their desks they put in headphones and ignore everyone. Training is severely lacking and they expect all of their other employees to train new hires while still balancing too much work. Don't expect to be rewarded or acknowledged for anything. They give 1 raise per year and it caps out at 3%. They sell you on growth opportunities, but they are only available to referrals of the current management team or they bring in people from outside. Leadership is so ego driven that when they hire a supervisor that is incompetent they won't do anything because they would have to admit that they made a bad choice. The current leadership of customer operations has driven the department to the ground. Last drawback is it is very difficult to work in a customer facing position when the 1 product we sell is under an FDA recall and is never in stock. To make it worse they rarely tell you when things are on backorder which just gets you yelled at because you can't set proper expectations without accurate information.

Pros

If you want to travel, you'll have the opportunity to within the AME and some other Operations groups. They do still have Work from Home policies (2022), so that's nice compared to some other companies.

Cons

- Not enough people to truly be able to comfortably complete tasks / projects on time. Labeled as a normal thing too, "That's Dexcom", "Welcome to Dexcom". - Unreasonable schedules for most projects - Groups are too Silo'd - Quality Team doesn't seem to actually review documents (likely cause they are over worked) - Too much like a Startup for the size of the company - Weak pay raises considering inflation (Let's just say that the raise for an average employee who did everything they were assigned to do came no where near inflation in 2022 let alone what one might expect of a normal year raise at any other company), be prepared to have to look elsewhere to keep you pay competitive with raising cost of living (whether you switch or use it as leverage for an inhouse raise) - Weak Employee retention (because of the issues above)
