Pros

Team members were very cool

Cons

This is in regards to a Microsoft Social Media contract. The leads on this team are THE WORST. A significant, high ranking member of the team, is a MAGA enthusiast who rarely (never) works 5 days a week, but will 100% expect you to account for 100% of your time, down to the minute. Do you want to work for someone who is literally never there on Fridays, but expects you to respond to a ping in less than a minute? Do you want to work for a team of "leaders" who are never there to answer questions, yet expect you to have all of the answers? Do you want to work on a team (minus leadership) of people who deeply care, but are deeply unhappy? I did not put team, in "quotes" because that is the only part of the situation that is legit, and they ALL WANT OUT. There is literally a SIDE CHAT ABOUT IT. It had to be made externally because the company cares more about incompetent leadership than its employees. Seriously, there is no order to this team, there is ABSOLUTELY NO LEADERSHIP on this team, and it is just the absolute worst place to work. I wrote a review recently that was deleted for confusing reasons, and that is why I am back. If you love and respect yourself, don't even consider working here. Take less money and actually enjoy your life. Unless you love being micromanaged and have expectations you CANNOT live up to with literally no support. Then, do you I guess.

Pros

- Work from anywhere - Cool colleagues (individual contributor level) - Interesting initiatives - International footprint Designit is great if you want a job that will pay the bills. You can work from anywhere so if you want to go to the beach next week, go to the beach. I enjoyed my coworkers because they were always positive and saw the glass as half-full. Because people are generally positive here, "Designits" are daydreamers and always seeking out new methods and ideas which can be nice. No one is willing to stick to the status quo so you won't be bored, necessarily. If you need a quick buck, come here. Most people here are working other jobs remotely or interviewing. Everyone is looking.

Cons

- Minimal benefits and non-competitive pay - Awful CEO and leadership team - Everyone gets promoted easily with zero-or-little increases in pay - Racism The Designit I joined is not the Designit of today. We used to have a head of business that was extremely humanistic and a leadership team you could say were advocates for the greater workforce. Now, Designit's leadership team is largely based in Europe and the culture continues to exclude other regions. The current CEO is all words and zero personality, and his team is never around to be transparent. Another disturbing trend I and other colleagues have noticed is the covert racism and discrimination against employees of color. Racial minority employees are conveniently excluded from leadership selections and when they do exist, they're forced to quit or are pressured until they are fired. My team asked the leadership team about this trend during a Fireside Chat, and they never addressed the questions during the Q&A. ***My team has proof of submitting the questions and proof of them acting like they never received them if you'd like for me to post the screenshots.**** I have also heard my white colleagues make culturally insensitive jokes. Again, this is not the Designit I once joined. Ultimately, an "easy salary" is not enough to keep me here and I left. You'll never actually grow here and there are no benefits offered to empower us to seek learning opportunities elsewhere. It's truly no wonder why Designit has endless job openings and most people last about a year before they quit or are conveniently "let go." Good riddance, Designit!
