Large Firm with a Small Firm Feel

Pros

I work at one of the smaller offices and this particular office has a great culture. While Dentons is a VERY large firm, this office has a small "family" firm feel to it. The support to staff in this office is second to none. Our administrators do their best to listen to staff while respecting the needs of the attorneys. Dentons provides excellent benefits.

Cons

Because it is a large firm, the processes can become a little intense and wearisome.

Strong name recognition, some very nice people, a bold vision for the future of the legal industry, office location is terrific

Cons

There is no real future here. Management tried hard to integrate lawyers into the "polycentric" way of doing things but, after working here a few years, I can't say it is working. They never stop telling everyone to drink the kool-aid here but its just not working. Senior leadership seems exclusively focused on rolling up more and more lawyers in far flung destinations, some of whom are just not that great. The Chinese combination with Dacheung has yet to produce any tangible benefit and has been a major drain on resources. I am very concerned about the outlook for Dentons beyond the next 24 months.
