Deloitte is good for a new hire out of college to pad their resume, but not long term
Pros
Working for deloitte really provides a very good learning experience for people directly out of college. They were able to send me to multiple Oracle training classes, but the classes proved to be useless when it came to real work. I got better experience and training on the job working with more seasoned employees. But by rotating from project to project you get good business experience and the ability to work at multiple different companies. The travel and perks of travel were also good, especially directly out of college. I would recommend this as a first job, but not long term.
Cons
Working with managers and senior consultants who dont know anything is tough. They act like they are technical and know what they are doing, but they are really morons who know how to "play the game". if you can play the politics at deloitte you can get ahead. if you want to work for someone who cares about your improvement, dont go there. I worked for numerous managers, senior managers, and partners who provided absolutely no worth to the client, other than to bill themselves out and bring in money for deloitte. eventually the client picks up on this and kicks you out.
