Pros

If you are single, travel to places on company's dime. Good learning experience across the industries if that is what you want to gather. While working at Deloitte, you will certainly improve your communication and presentation skills. Even if you don't want, you will start to focus on attention to details. You will also learn a lot about politics and yes on the real positives, you will gather problem-solving skills. Dealing with C-level executives is a farse but Deloitte would give you this kool-aid. If you are Manager or below, most likely you will be a one of the employees in the sweat shop.

Cons

Very political. People run over you to get ahead. Partners are like GODs. A culture that encourages sycophancy. Long hours with no return on pay. The worst is the bonus at the end of the year. If any analytical mind calculates the bonus, it will hardly come out to be 5 bucks a day after tax on an average. A person has to give up a lot to just retain a Deloitte job - travel + office politics + partner boot licking + networking + project pressure + multiple performance appraisals. At the end of the year, folks are going to take less than a minute to analyze your performance. Thats what you get. Some folks are so not interested in your career development. Very selfish and self-centered cutlure.

Pros

Good Pay , Good Hike, Good Bonus.

Cons

You have to be very good at networking. One mantra everyone tell you when you join the org is “Make Network”. You may not understand it at first, but as per them “If your promotion is taken to a panel discussion of 5 SMs atleast one person should support you” . Sounds nice , but I felt more politics and soft corner there towards people who are good at talking and making network. Getting promotion is the most difficult part here. They assign you a milestone year when you join. But even if you are in your milestone year , doing your projects excellently will nit reserve you a promotion. 1) you should be already playing the role you are expected to be promoted to 2) This is the biggest part, Firm Initiatives. Even if you do your job well, without an “impactful” FI you will never get promoted. This has added to a toxic work culture within the organization were people are burned out and disappointed. Even if yiu do 10 FI they will still wont promote you saying it was not impactful. This is especially for laterals. People who have started their career in Deloitte climb the career very faster than other talented people who join the organization

Pros

Career development Smart colleagues Autonomy over your Career

Cons

Was fully staffed on a project and on an SOW through the end of 2024. Was a top performer across my account with glowing reviews, and one day after a client call a random HR woman put time on my clalendar to let me know that would be my last day. Account team was not informed, I had travel booked for client travel the following week. Completely inhumane and unprofessional.
