Pros

Good, but expensive benefits. Opportunities to travel domestically and internationally. Decent starting salary. Ability to work with smart, driven people.

Cons

The organization is ride with politics, favoritism, back-stabbing, and brown-nosing. You either drink the kool aid and play the game or you don't and get cast aside as an outsider who gets placed on crap projects/assignments. Way too much group think. Very weak pay raises, and recruiters will lie through their teeth about the high bonuses everyone gets (because, on average, they're not that high). You are essentially made to feel shame if you take PTO during times when it's not convenient for the firm. There is no true organization hierarchy, so your performance review is at the mercy of each 'manager' you work with on projects--and they don't have to tell you anything about the ratings they're submitting about you (which you have to request every few months), though they're supposed to have a conversation with you.

Pros

Pay , bonus and wellbeing

Cons

Working hours >14 hours including weekends , managers absolutely with no experience and with attitude that no one can complain on them , principals just looking for cash margin , no bench period or breather to look for another project , people get fired with just one or 2 days notice , people in USDC can sit for months in bench and upgrade their technology and project based folks are asked to quit the company as soon as the project work is done , 401k is one of the worst and unlike other companies they only add company’s contribution at end of the year and it’s mere 25% match for first 6% and vesting period is a whooping 4 years . Appraisal system is absolute joke and you don’t get the hikes for another 6 months after the fiscal year and it goes on and on .. absolutely no trust factor in management and principals .

Pros

The work itself was very interesting to me. A huge part of my job was case management and guidance clients in outbound immigration procedures from the USA to the EU. I enjoyed this position very much as it matched my academic qualifications and language skills.

Cons

Managers are a bit selective when it comes to assigning cases and prefer to assign or provide more opportunities to some employees vs others. If you are a minority and have given an offer to work at BAL (Dallas office) ask questions about your direct supervisor or try to obtain information about where he or she is from, where he or she went to school, in an effort to see whether your supervisor welcomes diversity to his or her team. To see if he or she is okay to work with people of color or foreigners.
