Dell is a very faced paced environment filled with many very smart people. This creates a dynamic work environment that thrives on creative thinking and the will to succeed.
Cons
The company still revolves around people, vs. process and IT. This makes the job extremely stressful as the consequences of every detail are great. To remain competitive in the industry and economic environment, the workload continues to increase while the comp and benefits are sliding backwards. The company may ultimately succeed, but the employees are no longer sharing in the success. This is a contradiction to the previous culture. A company that is so dependant on its people, must find ways to reward them. The company will continue to progress slowly as it changes its culture, loses top performers and eventually replaces people with strategy. Great for the long term stock holders, not great for the employees.
