People Oriented (people = french/expats)
Pros
- MNC, nice addition on CV - great diversity in the Offer & Supply team (albeit heavy on foreigners/expats) - overall great autonomy when it comes to actual work - friendly teammates, team leaders are generally quite open minded/flexible - not a priority to be competent (technical skills is not a must have) - promote zigzag internal progression, good for those who would like to try out different roles - good work life balance culture, no OT! - strong emphasis on cultural fit (provided you fit into the narrow scope of how a Decathlonian should behaves) - good stepping stone for fresh grads seeking opportunities in supply chain management
Cons
- rather poor pay package for experienced local candidates (be prepared to negotiate, dont be alarmed if they lowball in initial offer) - french management style (laissez-faire) might not work to your advantage when conflict arises - lack of transparency, you are expected to read between lines - inconsistent practice across team leaders (could result in unfair treatments among subordinates of different teams)
