Office/Work-related matters
- Too much work for 1 pax, you will end up doing everything for your own category without much help.
- Management is extremely unfair. Some get away with doing nil work but some get reprimanded no matter what.
- Certain managers have ZERO capability to lead and guide a team.
- Lots of office politics as they expect you to behave in a certain manner and if you do not meet their expectations = be ready to be outcasted
- Gossips are inevitable but they don't even try to mask it or speak privately
- Not a very nice workplace as colleagues tend to speak to one another in non-English, often excluding us from conversations. Making it seems like we are outsiders. (Yes, with the "looks" too)
- They DO NOT CARE about you despite preaching about it often. More often it's for their own benefit only.
- Expect manipulation to happen. If you are easily manipulated, do avoid Decathlon at all costs.
- Flat hierarchy (so they advertised) but in fact, there is a lot of power play in the company (expect to hear "is this how you speak to your boss?")
- Lots of talks but nobody will walk the talk
- Culture is supposed to be great but Nah, the only saving grace will be your colleagues that complain together
- Blaming culture is prevalent
Career Growth/Progression
- Zero to few career opportunities. If you are looking to grow in a certain department - this is not the place to go. They promote a "zig-zag" career where one will be jumping across dept and not have any sort of "career promotion" even if you have worked for years.
- Increment is very tricky and very much dependent on your bosses' mood.
Work Package
- Poor packages, anywhere else literally have better benefits
- Pay is low compared to outside
- The only benefit is a 20% discount but only restricted to own family. Compared to competitors, we have a much lower discount % benefit and it cannot even use for friends or extended family,
