Pros

The people at Decathlon are passionate and always optimistic about the future. Challenges are big and the company culture makes them more and more ambitious. However, never mind how the bar is high, the positive attitude make it possible to over perform. Through my experience I learned a lot on the field and thank to a strong support from the management. I also could match my personal hobbies with my daily job and make the most of a wonderful work-life balance. Never felt squeezed or even close to a burnout.

Cons

The salaries and benefits make it on average. You won't see many people driving porches to get to the office. Not ok for people only driven by money. The company is always questioning the way the do business and this is good to keep performing. However it can shake the most of the people.

Pros

-Fun Staff and Managers -Fun quaterly meetings that usually involve sport -You get given responsability if you are OK to GOOD. -New stores are better than older stores.

Cons

-Your Mileage May Vary. God are some stores good and others awful. -Your Mileage May Vary. Each store manager can do what he wants, some can be godly and others can be diabolical. -Wages are not negociable - they are also quite low. -Amateurish and disorganized in many aspects. This can play to your advantage in some situations and to your disadvantage in others. -It is expected in most stores that you will be working over 40 hours per week. I think the average you should expect, unless your are lucky, so to have to work from 45 to 55 hours per week. Expect these hours to be intense, as well.

Thank you for your useful feedback fellow Decathlete! We are listening. It's true we give a lot of autonomy - and with that comes risk that things don't always go right. But we prefer this than to instill too many rules as we believe in the power of autonomy & creativity.
