      Pros

      DLR offers great work life balance and you will work with some very enthusiastic and smart people. The support for new employees is very good.

      Cons

      The pay at DLR is quite limited due to it following the TVOED scale. The work culture can be quite different depending on each institute.

      Pros

      Some of the smartest colleagues I have worked with. Interesting projects. A lot of leeway in how to approach and finish the work.

      Cons

      Parts of the management does not have it together, they do not understand the topics in their own department or institute. They go all in fighting about positions and research funding distribution with other heads of institute instead of developing a long term plan for the own institute. Management demands respect for their position instead of delivering and earning respect for their own performance. No chance to grow. One has to leave after three to four years to be able to further grow.

      -Relaxed atmosphere with flat hierarchy -Very flexible (39h/week, the extra hours can be used for taking days off) -Possibility to participate to International conferences -Courses and seminars

      Cons

      -Scarce to non-existent career chances -Very difficult to obtain a permanent contract -Management in some cases was completely incompetent
