Pros

Decent pay, some okay perks

Cons

Been here a year now and I’ve disliked a lot more than I’ve liked. There’s a notably cliquey atmosphere within my department and I’ve found it impossible to break down. They expect you to come in with the same level of knowledge that experienced workers have and make minimal effort to bring you up to speed. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve received any positive reinforcement throughout the year, it’s a place that absolutely thrives on criticism and nitpicking. I’ve found that really bad for my self esteem. There’s clear favouritism throughout the team and I’ve noticed that they tend to repeatedly give me tedious tasks that are below my pay grade because the I’m seemingly perceived as being inferior to other team members within the same position. They never offload these tasks onto others, it’s always on me. My manager often speaks horribly about certain people when they’re not around, leading me to believe she’s likely doing the same about me. They tell you to ask questions to get up to speed, but then will often say “you should know that” or palm you off because they’re too busy to give you any of their precious time. We have so many meetings with zero structure that end up just being a pally chat amongst the clique. It is so alienating. I’m getting to a stage where I seriously regret leaving my previous job and turning down other offers. It doesn’t feel like a nice place to work at all.
