Pros

Good benefits, good discounts. Lots of things to keep you very busy throughout the day. Lots of stores constantly opening up.

Cons

Some managers are lazier than others. They don't like taking responsibilities for their own work/projects. They say you are constantly doing a great job, but never promote you to the next level. If they do tell you they will promote you to the next level, it's usually right before they get transferred and have another manager come in to where you have to show your work all over again. The give you more and more responsbilities but keep taking away hours from you, then are upset when you can't get anything done due to the lack of hours or manpower.

Pros

Good sales experience, customers like to chat, was fun to sell something I'm passionate about, decent pay and compensation, learned a lot about hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities.

Cons

I don't even know where to begin with these people. I enjoyed the job, but the lack of training I received made the job extremely difficult. There was no orientation period and the only training I received were some online tutorials about gun sales, and how much trouble I could get in if I screwed it up. I was given no instruction on even administrative things (i.e. getting a name badge, operating the time clock, setting up direct deposit, etc.). I was forced to run the entire department myself the second day I was there. Also, when I went to ask to get some time off for a family vacation (thee weeks before), my manager told me to fill out a request form, and put it in his mailbox. I did not hear anything about it for awhile, and assumed it must be approved. That was until I noticed a stack of requests hanging out of his mailbox, that he had not even touched. In the end, he did give me the time off. When I got back, I was notified that I would basically be getting replaced by a transfer and a previous employee, because I worked too slow for their liking. This was a result of me having to ask people how to perform certain tasks, since I was given no instruction or training on how to do them. Absolute nonsense.
