      Old boy network management style.

      Pros

      Co-workers are great to work with for the most part. Although the directors have "eyes" on the ground you can easily find out who the they are. Good benefits, however but they make you earn everything.

      Cons

      Management works thru intimidation. Being yelled at and humiliated is not out of the ordinary. Covidien talks about "changing the culture" but with the established mgmt. I cannot see how that is feasible. All mgmt. is from old U.S. Surgical days and their attitudes do not change. Too bad, they have a lot of smart people working there that are treated as replaceable.

      Pros

      -Work/Life balance is great -Colleagues are intelligent and drive you to be successful -Training is very in depth and most marketing teams really know their product and business segments

      Cons

      -HR is non existent to sales reps. You have to network and create your own opportunities if you want to move up -HQ controls all pricing decisions at field level and they don't always get back to you in a timely manner when you are trying to close a deal -Marketing and sales are not aligned to the same compensation incentives
