Pros

The benefits. Lots of free food. Discounted Fitbit watch. Cooley cool-downs. Beautiful office

Cons

They want your life to revolve around the job. VERY LONG HOURS. They expect you to respond to emails after hours and on weekends. They expect you to work on weekends. Not very much training. Rude management.

Pros

Great firm for attorneys, Great benefits, competitive salaries, fitness reimbursement, IT department keeps employees armed with the latest tech software/hardware.

Cons

Not a great firm for staff. There are too many directors and too many managers. The firm is top heavy and needs highly effective leaders, not more mediocre leaders. In-fighting at the C-level, distrust at the director level and confusion at the manager level. New directors/managers join the firm and are quickly immersed into the bureaucracy of the firm which prevents them from effectively managing teams. High performing staff are overwhelmed, carry the majority of the workload and receive very little recognition when it comes to merit & bonus increases. Merit & bonus decisions are made at the C-level which directly correlates to the amount of face time you have and not a representation of employee production.

Pros

My other peers were really helpful and supportive whenever I needed help with anything. Many of the secretaries and paralegals, and other employees that work here are really nice and will go out of their way to ask you about your day. Some of the work I did here was indeed meaningful - gave me a lot of good insight and perspective as well as making that relationship with an attorney.

Cons

Too much micromanagement - I understand there are protocols for the upper managemnet to follow and rules that need to be enforced. However, when it came to communicating those rules and standards, I felt like I was left in the dark. Additionally - it seemed like there were rather different standards for each person that was a part of the same team making it difficult to decipher where you stand. Heavily scrutinization over small mistakes and no recognition for a job well done or good feedback from peers.
