This job was a textbook example of how not to onboard a new employee. From the very beginning, there was no real training—just vague expectations and zero guidance. Instead of teaching me how to do the job, management would either do the work themselves or leave me in the dark, then criticize me afterward for not doing it “correctly.” How could I possibly meet expectations that were never clearly communicated in the first place? To make matters worse, the supervisors responsible for supporting me were based over 90 minutes away and were consistently unreachable. When I asked for clarification or help, I was met with silence or unavailability. I was ultimately fired for poor performance—performance that was entirely dependent on information I was never given. This role felt less like an opportunity and more like a setup. If you’re considering working here, be prepared to teach yourself everything, and don’t expect much in the way of leadership or accountability. I expected my supervisors to support me throughout my 7 month period of being in this position and they failed me.
