I was pregnant, and caught the flu. I had a doctor's note which said I needed to stay home for a week. I called in every day as I was told to do and on the third day I received a phone call telling me that I needed to return to work or "have a conversation" with my supervisor. It was implied that if I did not return to work before medically advised I would be fired. I was informed that a doctor's note is not accepted as an excuse for absence. I ended up quitting because who wants to work at a place that has so much disregard for employee's well being? Certainly not I.
