Pros

*In recent years Coloplast has done a great job at looking for ways to hire from within and increase the training for transitions (EX. new manager training for those who have recently been promoted to a manager role). *My experience with management has been very open and if you need to say something, then say it. Transparency and feedback is always welcome as long as it's provided in a good way. They only time I've seen it taken poorly is when the feedback was given in a negative way (ex. aggressive or disrespectful) *Very fast pace environment that changes frequently, not good for someone who doesn't like change or isn't able to adapt quickly. *Coloplast seems to really care about the customers and well as the employees. I know if the Danish culture, it’s shown in different ways but I believe the Danes are working at ensuring they show appreciation in a way that works for the US employees. * Coloplast has a number of temporary employees and they treat them like there are full time employees instead of like lepers (I’ve been a temp at other companies and I was also treated like I wasn’t part of the company; this is not the case at Coloplast).

Cons

*Work/life balance is what you make it. Coloplast appreciates hard work and it seems to be part of the Danish culture to take time off when needed. The managers don’t disapprove of time off but it’s also not part of the culture to encourage taking time off. *When converting from temp to full time employee, there can be a long conversation time. But the hiring manager is usually open about what the hold up is about.

Pros

I loved working at Coloplast and I really enjoyed the company culture. I felt that the company really valued both employees and End Users. All the employees and management teams were amazing - I always felt like I could connect with them even if they were in a totally different state. Also, the upper management was never "above" everyone in lower positions. They truly tried to incorporate some "middle-out" management techniques. I would work here again in a heartbeat if the right opportunity came along!

Cons

Although the company was awesome, I didn't enjoy my job. I didn't feel the management (outside of the US) understood the US market. They would frequently tell us how important our feedback was but then they would not listen to what we were telling them about our customers. This created conflict when we tried to "listen and respond" to our End Users.

Pros

High salary in the 60's or at $70k a year which is more than most companies

Cons

Comp plan changes often. Now, they're all about a CARE patient program which everybody and their mother is selling including dist partners. Big conflict of interest! Goals have been raised and that promise of making $150K+ a year is nothing but a pipedream. Expectations to work 60-70 hrs a week with tedious paperwork and reporting. Most of which is wasteful
