Pros

- Good pay - Good benefits - Very socially conscious and progressive on important issues - People are very friendly

Cons

- Leadership is a mess and has no idea what is happening in the field and what reality is - We build products that we think the market needs vs what they are actually asking for. So many old egos that will not let bad products fade away - Just working through all the internal challenges within Cisco to sell is harder than even selling to the customer - We pay executives tons of money, but cut all the quality out of TAC so it is not good anymore - We over promise and under deliver all the time. Ask customers to spend like they are buying a Lexus, but they are buying junker - Way too many people who want their voices and opinions heard and so good ideas turn into terrible execution - We hire the same people over and over again that are in the same industry or have friends here, instead of finding great talent that can be taught the technology

Pros

Good trainings are available to all Cisco employees. Excellent company for new young Padawan and if you join at management level

Cons

As a global company it is expected to work atleast 12-14 hours a day. No concept of work life balance. While it is good to do that when you join the company for first year but expecting that for all the years something is a miss. Opportunities of growth only available if you are in the same location and bonding with management. There is no concept of providing performance feedback of your peers to level above them anonymously.

Pros

- Competitive pay - Name recognition - Established company so it's expected it will be around awhile - Room for climbing the corporate ladder

Cons

- Layoffs are always looming over everyone's heads, so morale is low - No loyalty to their long time employees, they will lay off better workers and keep the ones that everyone wonders why/how they still have a job there. Seemingly arbitrary. - Company is way too big, you'll always feel like a number - Sketchy leadership in some divisions - They buy companies doing great things and then lay off the teams that made them that way and water down the product. I know it sounds like I am a scorned employee who was laid off, but I wasn't, I was just appalled at how others fared in these quarterly chopping blocks. I left of my own accord for a better work environment and it was one of the better decisions I've ever made.
