Pros

People on the "floor" were pretty great. Full remote.

Cons

What a convoluted way of working. Everything is over engineered with so much overhead, to a point where I wonder how they can make money (breaking news they do not make any). Higher ups feel good about their choices but what they have is a bunch of people working harder than they should, with no one daring to flag the bad things, leading to a lot of useless work for nothing. Over complicates everything for no good reasons, leading to people having to "fill" blanks without knowing what to do to go around all the stuff needed for simple things, and when flagged it is dismissed because "we always did it this way" mentality, They are not open to new ideas, nor are looking to change what they think is great but is terrible (if you ever worked somewhere else before you will be baffled at the sheer amount of wasted time), or changes and it seems the people who made the decisions are not skilled nor smart enough to realize they are holding the company back as a whole with poor decision making without insight or self awareness of their incompetence. Head of CG was as clueless as one can be without bringing anything to the table to help. Rug pulled me as well, as I was taken on board to bring my experience to the table, only to be told "no" when trying to flag all the things they did bad, leading to sub par productions and results with 10 times the amount of effort for below average results. Maddening. The recent AI effort announcement is also laughable because if they operate to the same level of blindness with it, thinking AI will save them some time while not even able to pull their head out of their *** and listen to experienced people knowing better that could save time now, it's a done deal for them. They will probably end up copying everyone's plan to use AI for compositing / face replacement and down the drain all the sweet money they just landed to try copycat some other more successful companies who actually are questioning their ways and are working hard to makes things better. Could be an awesome place but the management is so abysmal and inexperienced, thinking they know better on top, not listening to seniors people bringing wealth of experience to the table, it felt like a lost cause trying to argue with egos. The Brad bird movie claiming they are recruiting is also disingenuous as it is mostly done since a while only to stay relevant. Full remote have them in a special place where they could attract a lot of talent not wanting to be in other companies forcing return to office, but with their broken processes, think they know better while not being able to deliver a fraction of others attitude, they are probably running away screaming and laughing at the inept managers and supes. Some of the decision makers on how things are done are terribly lazy and incompetent

Pros

Small team in the past, lots of juniors and mids but they were talented. Recruiter is very nice and worked to get me to do remote work out of province. Former HOD was great, and the shows they worked on were fairly decent. Fairly big budget for the small crew.

Cons

Limited budgets so short timeframe to work on things. Are picky about location, I was lucky to have worked in Ontario with them. Not great pay for my skill and experience, but they had good people and low stress at the time. Its a bit of an ask for you to have low pay, ask people to move to montreal, and have remote work.
