A small shop in a flat-lining industry

Pros

Some good people in a good (probably soon to be vacant) building. Central location. Decent work-life balance. Pay scale within range for the industry and city. Good place to gain some short-term experience in the industry.

Cons

The industry is flat, and declining in London. Commercial pressures are causing work to move off-shore, mainly to the far-east or Canada. It is no fun to work for a company which is smaller than it was 10 years ago, and getting smaller all the time. Long-serving top management have shown little or no ability to turn around company fortunes. Repeated attempts to develop animation capabilities have failed. Management actively encourages infighting amongst staff, because 'the cream will rise to the top'.

Pros

Artists were great to work with and gave 100% to projects Money and location was very good

Cons

Senior management was diabolical, psychotic and paranoid 2 to 3 people have been allowed to run Cinesites once great reputation into the ground. Clients just don't want to know anymore. Working practices were archaic and nepotism ruled the day.
