      Positive Overall. Recent downstream workforce reductions were difficult on many employees and their families

      Pros

      Good pay and benefits, company-funded retirement program, very good 401K, opportunities for seeking various positions (theoretically speaking).

      Cons

      Focus is on the upstream business with recent significant reductions in the downstream work force. Shifting management priorities and internal focus on bureacracy and satisfying internal metrics versus the bigger picture items creates frustration and inefficiencies.

      Pros

      Chevron is an excellent company to have on your resume. Salary and Incentive bonuses are very good.

      Cons

      The company could do better in developing all employees. Do away with the Jack Welch way and really give employees the feedback they need and assistance to get to where they want to be. Being promoted is normally done through managed moves or reorgs.

      Aggressively downsizing people decision are not clear or fair lately, not necesarily performance driven Outstanding contributions only are recognized when a great deal of pernsonal marketing is made Has become very political with ongoing downsizing
