Pros

Love the freedom to start and stop work when you want to. Love that I am my own boss and I am free to find my own clients and take care of their individual real estate needs as I see fit. Love to help people find what they are looking for and get them in the house of their choice.

Cons

Pay! Basically you are unemployed in between closings. In 7 months, I have only taken home ~7K. I guess it is the same as working for minimum wage. I have closed one house a month that is on average ~100K. Paying 50% commission to the broker, 8% Century 21 fee, and office fees each month ($105+) plus all your own marketing expenses, gasoline, medical insurance, car insurance, dental, etc. This job has no benefits other than being in control of your day.

Pros

Good corporate branding image, nationwide. Century 21 is a trusted name, especially among baby boomers. My managing broker's office manager was awesome and had an open door policy.

Cons

Each office is independently owned and operated and I happened to be with a broker who had "favorites" and allocated many of the general office leads to his chosen few. This didn't help with maintaining good morale or loyalty among the agents.

Pros

Absolutely nothing positive to say

Cons

Lazy, uninformened and a blaitantly terrible liar Don't walk but run from this agent. I have spent 4 months trying to work with this person and During that time he found 2 houses but constantly reminded me I was stuck working with him. He expected me to find homes and let him know about them so he could print the basic info I already had while commenting on the age of the water heater pretending that was the pinnacle of an agents contribution. I rescently asked to end the contract and he expected 3 grand for sitting back and doing nothing. I can't imagine a more miserable buying experience than what I had with Brett Belknap. Please don't make the mistake I did and if an agent expects you to sign a 12 month contract the first day you meet him know you are speaking with a terrible agent that can't earn clients and must instead take advantage of naive people who don't know better like I was.
