Pros

Great benefits (healthcare, unlimited PTO, free mattress and swag)

Cons

There’s usually a reason a company has such great benefits and it’s usually because there is some underlying issue that is making it hard to retain employees, and that’s definitely true at Casper. I get the feeling Casper was a great place to work in the beginning but as it continued to raise money and eventually went public, the pressure to grow faster than was logistically possible was felt throughout. Turnover was high in retail and corporate, some which was due to multiple rounds of layoffs (probably 2-3 in a year). Definitely was a red flag when the old employees that had been there from the start had started to leave after the IPO they had been eagerly awaiting (which was a bust). Now it hangs on but management doesn’t seem to care about improving any processes or keeping employees happy. It’s a hard pass from me. Don’t waste your time.

Pros

Hourly rate is better than at many retail jobs They offer a lot of training You get discounts on products All staff can earn quarterly bonus, not just managers

Cons

Microaggressions abound from management Tedious work Lifting heavy stuff, especially on restock days Working alone Don't follow through with incentives HR staff is passive aggressive Corporate gets involved in day to day operations which is crazy Didn't receive COBRA info when I left the job which I think is illegal They don't offer a match for 401k Their stock is performing really poorly and it's awkward when customers ask you about it because it makes you feel like you're working for a loser company

Pros

I've been working at Casper for a year now and the people are amazing! I get to work with incredibly bright & friendly peers. Everyone is so welcoming and Casper has an amazing collaborative culture! We do so many fun employee engagement events that always relate back to the company's mission & values. Who wouldn't want to work for a company that is helping people sleep better which in turn is offering a way for people to be healthier. The leadership team and company really believes in work/life balance and allowing employees to take the time they need. During Covid, the company was able to pivot to a remote culture quickly while still staying connected & transparent about the business.

Cons

different direction from leaders at time, very focused on competition
