      Pros

      Large, safe organization in which you won't be challeneged to work too hard. However, the current restucturing has taken that safety away for a lot of people. Everything is now very lean

      Cons

      No management communication, no culture of feedback, no praise for work done, no opportunities to "step up" until you have a lot of grey hair. Star performers that aren't yet 40 had better go elsewhere

      Don't be fooled about how great this company is. Management is only concerned with the bottom line.

      Pros

      Employees are great and knowledgeable. Diverse company, good hours.

      Cons

      Alot of outsourcing is causing cuts with administrative personnel. Systems being used to manage the business were not investigated thoroughly and are a major cause of discord. Merit increases are not based on merit. Or could be that management is just looking to save on the bottom line.

      Pros

      UTC Power is a part of the much larger UTC Corporation. Being a part of such a large company means that the corporate infrastructure and resources exist and are in place to allow employees to flourish. At the same time UTC Power is a mid-sized company with the perks and intimacy that comes along with that. Most employees are on a first name basis with upper management and have few barriers between turning a good idea into a reality.

      Cons

      While a performance review program is in place, job performance feedback is rarely given except at the minimum intervals required by the program.
