The internal decision process was very long.

* Digital radiography business is slow growing in market, losing ground to competitors. They celebrate small victories, I never really saw big gains in this business. * The other core businesses (traditional radiography) has a sharply declining market, and Carestream is battling competitors for price, but they lose often since others are willing to take a loss to gain the business. This business has very little life left, I don't know how long they can maintain a full time workforce. *Newer CEO brings new ideas, but the other senior management are from the former Kodak culture (look what happened to that company). CEO isn't getting a straight answer from his advisors, I doubt they are anything but "yes" people. * Many of the smarter co-workers I had who still have 5+ more years in their career have left recently. Specifically the traditional business has management that is scared and thus scared many away. They have asked employees with "trust capital" to spare to essentially put their ethics and trust on the line to cover for huge gaps.
