A terrible place to work.

Pros

Not much positive to speak to in all honesty: • The cafeteria is ok. • Some of the people are very nice. • The pay and benefits are ok for the Rochester area. . These are really the only positive things that come to mind. Most of us come into work, keep our heads down and try to make it through another day.

Cons

This is not a good place to work. I know it, my fellow employees know it, even the leaders here know it. It is so bad that we did an employee survey a few years ago and the results were never released. Why? This is a broken company with a culture of dread and anxiety. Everyone here is afraid of losing their bonus or, worse yet, their job, and rightfully so. It is not out of the ordinary to hear people threatened with their job. Imagine a corporate “Lord of the Flies.” We just finished our yearly performance reviews and people are being shown the door because they landed in the bottom percentile. What’s frightening about this is that many of these people achieved and even exceed their goals. How can this happen? Shouldn’t HR step in? You would think so, but you would be wrong. HR here is dreadful. We now have a CHRO who is bewildered and acts as a toady for the CEO. How can you have an HR leader with no people skills, no leadership skills and no understanding of what a good organization looks like. Her only two companies: Kodak and Carestream. Not a Who’s Who of companies to work for. HR must be a demoralizing department to work in. All the current CHRO is known for is screaming at people, and firing them. The major problem with the leadership of this company is that most are from Kodak. Only the CFO and the CIO were not Kodak employees. Note to the Board of Directors: bring in some new talent with new ideas and who were successful in leading other businesses. A vision would be helpful too. Our Quarterly Business Updates by the CEO have become the business version of Charlie Brown’s teacher “Wah wah wah wah wah.” Quality. Nothing instills fear in teams more than hearing that the Quality department is coming in “to help.” Quality has become a code word for eliminating jobs. Nobody trusts the Quality department anymore as they have become like the HR group; doing all the CEO’s dirty work. As I said in the beginning, this is not a great place to work. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.
