Company is Declining

Pros

Started as a sales consultant in 2021 when the Newark location was decently managed. We we're staffed well, I enjoyed my managers & business was booming. Customers we're pleased with their experience for the most part, vehicles were decently priced, appraisals we're fair. Benefits are nice, work life balance is tough unless you make it into presidents club where you can make your own schedule.

Cons

All of my sales managers were fired or quit. The company rolled out the "CEC" which was a call center that was supposed to assist with sales & help the customer. Instead, it took half of our pay as sales consultants & customers would come in upset & take it out on the consultant. We would find ourselves starting from square one with a lot of customers but getting paid less since they started the process online. You want to stay far away from moving up in management as you are walking on egg shells with your GM & regional. If you keep saying yes, you will be expected to do more than you are paid to do. I mentored almost every new salesperson that they hired because all the veterans we're smart enough to decline. You are looked at as a number, upper management only cares about your work habits, not your family. And you better be on time & ready to work Sundays (in Delaware) or you will be shown the door.

Pros

Making friends through the struggle of working for a greedy company

Cons

The company is insanely greedy. Won't update the stores appearances or give proper raises about five cents a year. The salary employee in the office works maybe 30 hours a week while everyone else is expected to work overtime. Your life flies by because your assigned hours are just suggestions. If you close, expect to get out at the minimum an hour and a half after the set time. The employees in the office are walked all over by every other department, and expected to solve everything even if it's out of our responsibility. Should for sure be the highest paid in the store considering every signle vehicle has to be processed through our office and every single customer eventually comes back to the office, yet we are one of the lowest paid. We do most of the work for the sales consultants as well...yet we get none of their commission...and no bonses for buying in cars like the buyers office does...yet we do all the work besides running the VIN through an automated system and taking a few pictures of the car. Overall, you will be overworked and underpaid working for this company in general, but mainly the business office.
