Pros

Some very good management level employees with a long history with the company, which gives the sense that it is possible to build a career out of almost any position there. Management is also very open with staff about most changes to policies and feedback from staff seems to be valued. Corporate focus is on employee experience.

Cons

Scheduling is not always the best, but it doesn't seem unfair - just questionably planned sometimes, i.e. too many sales associates scheduled on Sundays at opening. Sales incentive goals are sporadic. Sometimes they are very good and sometimes they are barely worth the extra effort.

Pros

The benifits and everything else is good. Although they got rid of the pension plan, they did implement a new retirement plan with no cost to associates. This is on top of the 401k plan. People who were vested in old pension plan will still get their money when they retire.

Cons

Like others said, too big too fast. Current economy condition is hurting it. No fairness in work. Trust between associate & management is based on how well you know the other person and how well they are able to convince you of what is needed, not nescessarity of what is right and wrong. Management should be more accountable for thier responsibilities instead of associate. Stop pushing for good numbers and push for good results. Good numbers don't always mean good results, but yet just a good bonus for them.

Pros

The company when it started out was great in theory. With the advent of success, we got too large too quick. Now bad decisions, poor leadership, and a stagnant economy have caused this company to fall flat on its face. It's like any other large failing company now so I can't honestly say it's a good place to work anymore.

Cons

Just like any faltering large company. Hour/Pay cuts, they just got rid of the pension plan, poor decisions by upper/senior management have resulted in a class action lawsuit by three different firms for defrauding investors, poor hiring choices, poor promotion decisions, no accoutability. It's bad when I'm a manager and saying this stuff. They'll probably be out of business in three years if things get any worse than they are now.
