Pros

The training is top notch and very thorough. They provide regular feedback, both developmental and positive (although they really push the positive feedback). If you have the talent, they will let you grow as much and as fast as you can handle.

Cons

Inconsistencies with management, varying methods and processes depending on store. Communication can be lacking between departments.

Pros

You can be honest. Nothing works better in sales than direct eye contact and it is near impossible to do so without being honest. Carmax allows you to do so.

Cons

To make a considerable salary you have to step out of the 9-5. It becomes necessary to either network well or work on many of your days off.
