Pros

Lots of good co-workers (not so much with managers and above) Great business model (from a customer perspective) National footprint

Cons

Difficult Hours (Retail) Work environment is too political (who likes you is more improtant than the quaility of your performance) Prefer task managers/yes men over true leaders Sr. Managers/Regional Mgrs are threatened by innovative thinking or suggestions for improvement

Pros

401k, sales staff are good people

Cons

Micro Managing, treat you like morons, management not good, promoted when economy was good and expanded to fast. Now we are stuck with them. 7.75 and hour. Long shifts evening and weekend hours

Pros

Its great you get to buy wholesale cars on the cheap. They offer decent medical benefits. Don't need to be very bright to work there. So that's a plus.

Cons

Upper Management has a complex. When you buy those wholesale cars, you MUST pay Carmax a profit of at least $1000 . Carmax touts the Best 100 places to work, but it was like hell on earth.
