Pros

You will meet some of the best co-workers you've ever met working at CarMax. The sense of teamwork is strong and very encouraging.

Cons

Competitors pay about $5 more per hour to do what I did. I was constantly having observations written for the dumbest things (that other people would get away with). Trying to talk to a manager to see what you need to do to move up a position is pointless. Favoritism is/was strong, especially in my office. It doesn't matter if you're one of the most tenured and knowledgeable associates; they'll move up who they want to. Schedule will make your life outside of work nonexistent. Benefits are ridiculously expensive, especially if you have kids.

Full time and part time, two days off in a row, full benefits paid vacations. you will learn a lot of sales technique and how the US's financial process works

Cons

Commission only, the 5 days money back guarantee seriously will hurt your income, be prepared to attend hundreds of customer per year only with the purpose of, to get a free appraisal and then sell their car to other dealer.

Pros

The people are the best reason to work here, and a decent work/life balance in the locations closed on Sundays. Being able to be honest and transparent with our customers is a plus.

Cons

As the company grows, it feels more like the large corporation it is, associates are no longer a priority. Management at the store level is great, but anyone above that appears to have lost touch with the little people.
