Pros

Good learning and culture department

Cons

FSGBU which was perhaps one of the best places to work for as a small firm Kanbay, has seen an exponential decline in its culture, people and organization fundamentals. The senior management has no long term vision and most of them are around to simply make a quick buck and leave the organization. some major cons are - complete lack of respect for associates, low pay, lots of mergers with smaller companies but complete lack of integration of work cultures, fsgbu india treated as sweat shop, bureaucratic, pathetic support functions (hr, it, facilities)

Pros

Capgemini UK Plc is a great company and I know many of the allocated resources there to be happy. Having communicated with operations within I would say 'go for it'; Capgemini are a great company. This entry pertains to Financial Services Global Business Unit, of which I have nothing positive to say.

Cons

I have been a part of Capgemini, FS GBU for over a year now and have enough experience to confidently advise as to the following. Capgemini is a good company to work for, however FS GBU is significantly at odds with this statement through poor integration. FS GBU is predominantly an Indian business unit having been constructed from personnel absorbed through the take-over of Kanbay some years ago. Whereas personnel globally are all perfectly decent people, the company ethic is blurred and marred through a lack of integration mechanics. I am a staff member from the UK and am speaking as such. I am in direct contact with the lion's share of FS UK personnel and can say with confidence that not a one of these is proud to work for Capgemini, FS GBU. Communications are inappropriately focused; management of personal development is targeted on specific locations; remuneration is based upon an under-resourced IT function and subsequently ineffective; operations are managed on the principles of one locations legislative culture without any education being provided to assist. I am already starting to rant, a habit which has become a standard part of the working day to colleagues I communicate with regularly. I would like to offer something positive, however at this time my advice is as follows: work for Capgemini, they are a great company, but avoid FS GBU like the plague.

Pros

Good list of FS clients. Easy transfer between accounts

Cons

Terrible culture, not very employee centric, lack of accountability and ownership. Most Engagement managers were focussed on growing the business and treated employees like a datapoint in their P&L's. The Senior leadership was totally dependent on these Engagement managers and lacked gathering diverse feedback. I had no growth for the 6 years I stayed there and got back to back promotions with the next employer with loads of learning, broader scope of work. I am sorry I don't have anything nice to say other than the list of clients they have. If you want to be stuck in a place with terrible politics, zero growth but some decent learning, this could be the place for you.
