Good pay and benefits but high-stress.

Pros

Best reason to work there is that there is plenty of overtime opportunities available. They also have lots of hours available to work, because the area is starved for pharmacists.

Cons

High stress, reduced tech hours leading to 3 of your 8 hours having to fill and verify at what I would consider a reckless pace. Not enough support from management.

Pros

A lot of extra shifts to pick up and get extra income.

Cons

Very bad management, no time to finish your duties, minimum help from technicians, awful micro management. Metrics that are so unreasonable to achieve and even when you achieve it, never appreciated, always asked to do better, and on top of that they keep cutting technician hours and put all the load on the pharmacist. No overtime, pharmacist are expected to do everything including cleaning around the pharmacy and vacuuming in his working hours, and thats a must, otherwise they will keep bugging you day and night. You cant call in sick unless you die or in ICU.

Pros

CVS has some good people here and there, but it doesnt make up for the poor leadership from the top.

Cons

CVS is notorious for paying under the bar, which is why their competitors (Catamaran) like to snatch the employees to grow themselves. The politics in the office are VERY strong, I have seen people disappear from groups like Benefits, Desktop Support, Account Management all because they disagreed with leadership,. or made a bad call once. No warnings, no nothing, just gone. CVS doesnt like to follow through on thier Work/Life balance, My first few weeks there, I was working 12 hour days until I put my foot down, and in that i was threatened with write ups and discipline. Regardless that my work was meeting deadlines. This is a company that I would be very reluctant to work for again, and I would never recommend anyone work here. HR is shoddy, the company does hire and fire sprees just like sprint. and the irving office is empty right now because everyone got fed up and over 200 people quit.
