Pros

30 hour week with full time benefits Somewhat flexible schedule Average pay Some limited opportunities for advancement because of high burnout and turnover Only need to use limited brain power

Cons

Well…high burnout and turnover You will likely work alone with no support running every single aspect of the clinic Mostly negative feedback, very little positive Raises once a year which don’t even meet cost of living, so the longer you work there, the relatively less you make. Constantly added responsibilities and workload with no added support or compensation No real personal contact with other colleagues or management which adds to feelings of isolation and , in worse cases, general abandonment (resulting from inherent workplace design of the clinic). Can only surmise this is deliberate on CVS corporate’s part. Bottom line: even though you are a professional WHO IS THE FACE of the company providing quality medical care through your own license, and generating income and vast profits for the company CEOs, You are treated as nothing more than any other unskilled cvs employee. However other colleagues may have different experiences. It depends what clinic you work.

Pros

Days off during the week, great people, great bosses

Cons

Nobody stays there, can’t ever keep staffed, you are not a person you are a metric, always negative feedback, chart reviews etc. Customers don’t want to wait? It’s negative metrics for you. No buffer between you and patient so prepared to get attitude and yelled out when you don’t act like Burger King and everyone doesn’t get what they want. It’s all about money, money, money for CVS. Unsafe working conditions for all. Understaffing and increasing business and services is the bottom line.

Pros

Work from home is the only Pro with working for CVS

Cons

They do not take care of their employees. The medical benefits are horrible with huge deductibles. No vacation days for over 6 months. There is no work life balance. No flexibility at all. They have unrealistic metric goals. The calls can be complex, with a lot of steps to resolve issues, and they don’t give you enough time to take care of the patient’s needs. It’s an extremely high volume call center, and most times it takes more than 6 mins to handle a call. With the stress of the calls, and having to hear from Supervisors every week about being a 1 sec late; It’s just not work the aggravation. I can go on an on. Do your research before working there.
