Pros

I've been with the company for close to ten years. I've been through several positions..from new store setup, store manager to district trainer. I learned a lot for sure...because CVS runs on a very tight payroll, and we have no choice but learn every aspect of business. It's a good thing! If you can run a CVS store, you should be able to run most of the retail stores.

Cons

As I've mentioned earlier, the company is making great deal of money and is very aggressive opening new stores. On the downside, none of those money come back to the employees..well, at least not at the store level. 2013 is the year I've decided that enough is enough. The corporate is really squeezing the grunts dry. We are asked to do much more with bare minimum annual raise($.20cents?! you kidding me!) They're in the mentality that if you don't want the job, somebody else would since the economy is bad. I gave my life to the company and turned the local business around, but I think it's time to move on.

Pros

Excellent stability factor in any kind of market. Heavy transaction-oriented applications; hence good experience with their applications. People are really good to work with. Good benefits.

Cons

Location is remote - no public transportation to get to; unless you live in Rhode Island, you really need a reason to commute this far. Wish they had higher base salary for the positions - because of RI, they easily get away with it. Their tuition reimbursement is next to nothing.

Pros

Sadly nothing but my salary comes to mind. As of right now I'm just grateful to have a job in this economy.

Cons

Hours, hours, hours...expect your payroll hours to constantly decrease even when you are far exceeding your sales goals. Expect to work long hours and six days a week just to accomplish all your tasks. And be prepared to be made to feel like garbage if you take any time off. Expect to be threatened every day with your job if you don't complete all your tasks. And expect more frivolous tasks to be added everyday. Be prepared to work with only one other staff member. There are no hours to EVER have more than you and one staff member at all times. Expect your head on the chopping block if you even think of paying your staff a decent wage.
