Pros

This is a company that is loyal to its people. They stick with you and behind you. For some it may take a while to climb the ladder, but the opportunity is there. The benefits are great.

Cons

Not the best pay, but a paycheck I can depend on. Sometimes the back to back calls are daunting.

Pros

Above average pay, lots of influx of pharmacists that lends itself to ample employment opportunities.

Cons

Compared to other retail pharmacy chains, there is little time to eat something. Because there are no state or federal guidelines than force retail employers to give pharmacists scheduled breaks, other than California, long shifts can mean periods, up to 14 hrs, without sitting once. The company preaches a strong commitment to making their patients healthier, but don't afford their employees the same quality of life.

Pros

They provided more than enough training time, shadowing other pharmacists in stores as I learned the computer system

Cons

Every single night you will go home wondering how many mistakes got by you that day, and praying that they weren't serious. CVS workflow is set up for pharmacists to fail. I had times where I had six technicians working with me as 1 RPh. And they were all typing, filling, making different kinds of mistakes that I had to catch. CVS metrics are a joke, they track literally everything down to the second and the district managers run daily reports on every conceivable statistic. It's very much a "big brother"-type company. I feel incredibly thankful that I managed to escape there with my psyche, my health, and my pharmacy license intact. It's that dangerous.
